library
Libraries can be a key component to any student’s success. They are buildings/or rooms that hold a never-ending wealth of knowledge through academic books in all RRC subjects and more; These books are available for borrowing. The range of access to information is even wider in today’s world, where you can rent digital books as well. Our school has two libraries based in Winnipeg at the Notre Dame Campus and the Exchange District Campus.
Services
The library’s main purpose is to act as a storehouse for the schools’ books and a hub for students to borrow and return books. They can also serve as a quiet study space for students who prefer a quiet work environment and can’t have one at home. The library is also the home of our Academic Success Centre. The Academic Success Centre is the place for students to go if they’re in need of focused help. It offers many services for the purpose of academic success in students and faculty.
The services the library provides can be used regularly and in many different situations. Students can borrow books frequently for every day studying and project-specific needs. Tutors can be used when you feel your understanding is behind in a class and need help catching up. Academic coaching such as study skills and the writing centre are services meant to help you improve general academic skills. The library can also help you brush up on human skills like communication strategies. Though you don’t have to go to the library regularly, some students tend to only use the library during high-stress times, such as during exam week or before a test.
A library is a place with an abundance of resources available to all members of the RRC community. When you’re stuck in a course, the library’s free services are a good tool to utilize. Coming from a reliable source (our school), the library is a safe space to gather resources and receive academic help.
